Fresenius Kabi is the market leader in South Africa in parenteral nutrition and one of the leading providers of standard infusion solutions. The subsidiary Fresenius Kabi South Africa was founded at the end of 1998 and employs around 520 people, most of them at the Bodene factory in Port Elizabeth. The company's head office is located in Midrand near Johannesburg. South Africa is also the base from which Fresenius Kabi is expanding its business in numerous other African countries.

Bodene factory

The coastal town of Port Elizabeth is around 1,000 kilometers from the capital and, with a population of one million, is the country's fifth largest. Fresenius Kabi manufactures infusion solutions in bags and bottles as well as intravenously administered drugs in glass ampoules for the South African market and for export. More than 450 employees work in Bodene.
